The coil is wound on the insulating tube by the wires one by one. The wires are insulated from each other, and the insulating tube can be hollow or contain iron core or magnetic particle core. The inductance of the coil is expressed in L, and the units are Henry (H), millihenry (MH) and microhenry( μ H),1H=10^3mH=10^6 μ H.


Inductance coil is a device that works by using the principle of electromagnetic induction. When a current flows through a wire, a certain electromagnetic field will be generated around the wire, and the wire itself of the electromagnetic field will induce the wire within the range of the electromagnetic field. The effect on the wire itself generating the electromagnetic field is called "self induction", that is, the changing current generated by the wire itself generates a changing magnetic field, which further affects the current in the wire; the effect on other wires within the range of the electromagnetic field is called "mutual inductance".

The electrical characteristics of the inductor coil are opposite to those of the capacitor, "turn on the low frequency and resist the high frequency". When the high-frequency signal passes through the inductor coil, it will encounter great resistance and it is difficult to pass through; while the resistance of the low-frequency signal passing through it is relatively small, that is, the low-frequency signal can pass through it easily. The resistance of the inductor coil to DC is almost zero.

Resistance, capacitance and inductance will present a certain resistance to the flow of electrical signals in the circuit. This resistance is called "impedance". The impedance of the inductance coil to the current signal uses the self inductance of the coil. Inductance coil is sometimes referred to as "inductance" or "coil", which is represented by the letter "L". When winding an inductive coil, the number of turns of the coil we usually call it the "number of turns" of the coil.
